These golden orange pekoe tea leaves are grown in the steeply sloping gardens of hilly Darjeeling, India. Just like the protected status of "Champagne," "Darjeeling" only applies to tea grown in that specific region of India.

I just love Darjeeling tea. It is not all that popular in America because it is so light in the cup - the color is really more like a green tea. However the complex flavors are wonderful. I love the astringency and floral overtones. Our Darjeeling is a blend of mostly first flush with some 2nd flush. What’s that mean? Darjeeling sits in the high foothills of the Himalaya. It gets cold enough there that tea stops growing in the Fall. In the Spring, the first growth is called the First Flush. First Flush Darjeelings are prized the world over - they are very very light in color but can have exquisite flavor that varies with every day’s harvest. (Look for two great First Flush Darjeelings coming soon to our Loose Tea offering.) The 2nd flush is slightly darker and bolder. I love the combination of light but rich body with floral overtones of the first flush.

Darjeeling is my late morning / afternoon tea. It is light enough but still have a strength and a caffeine buzz.

This is a beautiful tea. I usually drink stronger teas (like Assam Breakfast) with milk the English way, but later in the day I don't want a flavor that strong. The Darjeeling has a delicate but very brisk flavor -- definitely don't want to put milk in it -- and the whole tea leaves in the sachet bring out all of the subtle flavors in this great tea. A box of this was given to us around five years ago! I recently started getting into tea, and this is just amazing. It is still good, so refreshing. I will have to order more from Two Leaves (Posted on 8/9/13)

This is not mt favorite. It has a musky taste. However, I never had any other darjeeling so I may not like that kind of tea. If you like a bold tea I really love the two leaves assam. (Posted on 8/9/13)

In the afternoon when I get home from work this is the tea I am looking forward to. Aroma, light flavor profile, not too harsh with tannin. Just a nice comfortable cup of tea. (Posted on 8/9/13)

I really liked this tea but found that Farmers Brothers Darjeeling was so much more reasonably priced! You can buy a box of 100 for about $5.50 sorry thats a big difference! (Posted on 8/9/13)
