    Details

Many centuries ago Oolong tea from three bushes on Wuyi Mountain saved the life of an ailing empress. Those three bushes were bestowed red robes (Hong Pao) and are honored to this day. These days, almost every tea from the area calls itself da hong pao (big red robe), but tea flavor, like wine, is very much affected by terroir. We buy this Da Hong Pao tea directly from the grower on Wuyi Mountain. The garden told us their tea bushes were started with cuttings from the original three bushes. Based on the flavor, we are inclined to believe them!
