How to Brew
A barista's quick-reference for preparing Two Leaves products at café speed. Each section follows the same pattern: prep methods, drink builders, recipes.
Start With a Matcha Shot
First, choose your prep method. Three ways to prepare a matcha shot — pick the method that fits your café's volume and equipment. Each yields the same shot ready for drink building.
Bowl + Whisk method
This method is ideal for a single-serving beverage. The resulting matcha shot can be used to create other drinks or be served on its own with the addition of water or ice.

Build Your Drink
Think of your matcha shot as an espresso shot. What you do with the shot depends on what kind of drink you are looking for. Just add water, flavors or milk. From traditional matcha to an iced cascade, to beautiful latte art. Some basic examples are shown below.
Traditional Matcha
This is the simplest way to enjoy a pure matcha experience. Just add water (or not!)
Enjoy as is or combine your matcha shot with desired amount hot water for a warm beverage.
Fill a cup with ice and pour matcha shot over top for an iced beverage experience.
Cascade Milk Method
If you are looking to sweeten your matcha latte, add syrups or flavorings to shot before combining with the milk.
Fill serving glass with ice and milk of choice.
Take your shot of matcha and delicately pour on top of milk and ice.
